Abstract

A support member for motor vehicle sunshield is described comprising a polymer base (10) connectable to the vehicle body, and a sunshield support arm (20) driven into a corresponding seat (14) in the base (10) such that it can only rotate therein, the arm (20) being provided with a groove (22) which, during the driving stage, is filled with the base material which is softened by the action of an ultrasonic driving tool and which after cooling forms an axial retention collar.
