SE MEZCLA HIDROGENO Y LA MATERIA PRIMA HIDROCARBONADA SEGUN UNA RELACION MOLAR HIDROGENO/HIDROCARBURO COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 0,5:1 Y 10:1, A CONTINUACION SE CALIENTA LA MEZCA Y SE TRATA CONSECUTIVAMENTE A TRAVES DE UNA PLURALIDAD DE ZONAS EN LAS QUE TIENEN LUGAR REACCIONES CATALITICAS. EL PRODUCTO DE LA REACCION DE CADA ZONA ES CALENTADO ANTES DE SER INTRODUCIDO EN LA ETAPA SIGUIENTE, Y EN EL CASO DE LA ULTIMA ETAPA ES RECUPERADO.
