Abstract

El presente invento va dirigido hacia un procedimiento así como hacia un aparato para fijar un conjunto de reparación (30) en una determinada posición (16'') por el interior de un tubo (14)- El conjunto de reparación comprende un casco (34) que es esencialmente cilíndrico y que tiene un diámetro exterior que es principalmente igual al diámetro interior del tubo. El casco ó cilindro es expandido radialmente hacia fuera en por lo menos un lugar previamente determinado (38), a los efectos de entrar en un permanente acoplamiento de interferencia con el tubo. Un aspecto novedoso de la invención comprende el posicionamiento de un anillo de aleación (36) para el mantenimiento de forma, el cual tiene un diámetro exterior que es esencialmente igual al diámetro interior del cilindro por el referido lugar. La aleación tiene un umbral de temperatura que está por debajo de la temperatura de ambiente de funcionamiento del tubo. El anillo de mantenimiento de forma está sostenido en la condición contraída durante la inserción del mismo por el interior del casco o cilindro. Al alcanzar el anillo de aleación la temperatura de umbral, el mismo dilata-normalmente entre el 3 y el 5%-por lo que se expansionan, de una forma permanente, el cilindro y el tubo por el lugar de la colocación del conjunto de reparación, con el fin de constituir entre los mismo una unión (42) que está a prueba de fugas. El conjunto de reparación puede ser en la forma de tapón ó bien en la forma de manguito.
