Abstract

Revolving strainer or filter drum for sewage consists of radal arms, joined by axial bars over which the filter covering is stretched. Buckets are arranged along the axial bars in such a way that they scoop up any deposited solids and empty them into a discharge hopper inside the drum in its upper part. The filter covering is stretched over axial bars which join the pairs of radial arms on a hollow drive shaft. The sewage is fed inside the drum through a pipe. The axial bars carry buckets which collect the deposited solids and the sludge which slides off inside. They discharge the contents into a hopper which has an outflow pipe in the drum centre. The process is assisted by a water spray from a pump. The fluid, free from solids, runs off over an overflow.
