Abstract

Procedimiento para preparar fibrilas de resina de poliéster reticulada vesiculada, con un diámetro de 1 un a 2mm, un longitud de 50 un a 5 cm y una relación de aspecto de 10 a 50; caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (a) verter con agitación una solución de resina de poliéster insaturada, carboxilada, en monómero etilenicamente insaturado copolimerizable con la misma, en agua conteniendo un estabilizador de dispersión coloidal y una base; - teniendo la resina de poliéster un índice de acidez de 10 a 90 mg K0H por g de resina y comprendiendo al menos 40% en peso de dicha solución de resina y seleccionándose de acuerdo con un ensayo de flotación en el cual una gota de la solución en monómero insaturado de resina de poliéster que se intenta usar en la preparación de las fibrilas, se añade a la superficie de agua cuyo pH ha sido ajustado con amoniaco a por lo menos 10, permaneciendo una gota de una solución satisfactoria en o cerca de la superficie durante un tiempo apreciable y hundiéndose rápidamente una gota de una solución insatisfactoria; y - teniendo dicha base un exponente de disociación (valor pKb) inferior a 8 y estando presente de manera que existan 1-3 equivalentes de base por cada grupo carboxilo presente en la resina de poliéster; y (b) iniciar la polimerización por radicales libres para reticular la solución de poliéster y formar fibrilas de resina de poliéster reticulada y vesiculada.
