Abstract

Each of the scrapers to be arranged at two discharge ends of a reversible belt band (3) has a support (8) which holds a plurality of scraper elements resting under spring pressure against the underside (4') of the belt band. Each scraper element consists of a cutting piece (21) and a spring apparatus (17, 18, 19) which acts in two directions and has a pivot mounting about an axis (A) for the cutting piece (21). In its operating position, the support (8) is so arranged relative to the underside (4') of the belt band that the distance (h) of the axis (A) from the underside (4') of the belt band is shorter than the connection between a cutting edge (23) of the cutting piece (21), resting against the underside (4') of the belt band, and the axis (A). The spring apparatus (17, 18, 19) permits the cutting edge to make contact in each case at a short distance (a) before or behind the bottom point of the perpendicular dropped from the axis (A) onto the underside (4') of the belt band, depending on the direction of movement of the belt band (3). As a result, a high, constant scraping performance, with the gentlest possible treatment of the belt band, and a simple change-over of the scrapers from the active to the inactive position and vice versa can be achieved.
