Abstract

Method comprises creating a jet or a screen of air, by blowing, on the side of the emission zone away from the zone which is to be protected. The jet induces a secondary flow of air from the emission zone towards itself. Prior art difficulties associated with disturbances of the air stream, e.g. by the arms of an operative, are obviated. Pollutants may be removed from a zone where they are emitted, so as to purify the zone and the surrounding zone which is to be protected.
