Abstract

A solar sun trap includes a layer of material contg. bitumen. This layer of material is laid on top of a series of conduits and is either directly in contact with the conduits or separated from them by a sheet of heat conducting material. Pref. the conduits are made of polyethylene and are packed with pebbles that are graded. A heat carrying fluid is circulated through the conduits. Above the layer container bitumen there can be a structure to protect this layer from wind. The structure is amde of tedlar or polyethylene either in the form of tubes inflated with a gas or sheets laid over arches and anchored at the edges. The device is easy to produce and can be walked upon. It can be laid in a field.
