Un dispositivo para tratar materiales sólidos y/o líquidos, particularmente para enfriar y secar arena de moldeo y para enfriar piezas coladas con ayuda de un tambor accionado a rotación, horizontalmente dispuesto, que se apoya sobre al menos una cadena sin fin que pasa a lo largo de la periferia del tambor y a lo largo de al menos un elemento de accionamiento hecho actuar, caracterizado porque la cadena se aplica al tambor de manera asimétrica.
