Abstract

The ski hoist cable is supported and guided by two pairs of rollers. These have flexible tyres and are mounted to form an inverted vee shape, the tyres contacting each other at the top. The tyres hold the cable but permit the skier towing brackets to pass between them. Each other comprises an outer metal disc, the tyres being bolted around the rim. The disc has a central pivot, running on a ball race and holding the roller in the supporting frame attached to the pylon of the hoist. The tyres are made from polyurethane or other wear resistant plastic.
