Abstract

Improvements in devices for transferring data between an analog transmission medium and a plurality of digital data terminals, of the type comprising a digital signal processor to perform all the functions of a first type of data transfer devices and circuitry for connecting the processor to each of the data terminals in succession, characterized in that the processor is also arranged to perform all the functions of at least a second type of data transfer device, with data signals appearing at certain data terminals requiring processing by the first type of data transfer device and data signals appearing at other of the data terminals requiring processing by the second type of data transfer device.
