Abstract
A discharge-sensitive recording medium (36) is brought into contact with recording needles by means of a conveyor means (56) in that the said medium (36) is moved transversely with respect to the direction of movement of the recording needles. The recording needles are arranged in one or more groups on a rotor which is mounted on a drive shaft (48). Each group of recording needles has a plurality of recording needles which are located right next to one other in the axial direction of the rotor. By means of an electrical control, the recording needles are controlled in such a way that they record characters in their direction of movement when the recording medium (36) passes over once. The device operates more quietly and with a higher printing speed than the known devices.
