Abstract
Improved process to produce electromagnetic silicon steel that has a cubic edge orientation and a permeability of at least 1850 (G/Oe) at 10 cerstediums, a process that will prompt the steps consisting of: preparing a silicon steel broth; strain said steel; hot rolling said steel to obtain a hot rolled strip; cold rolling said steel to a reduction of at least 80%; decarburize said steel; and annealing said steel to the final texture; characterized in that it comprises the steps consisting of coating the surface of said steel with a coating consisting essentially of: 100 parts, by weight, of at least one substance from the group consisting of boron, boron compounds, sulfur, sulfur compounds, selenium, compounds of selenium, and oxides and hydroxides of magnesium, calcium, aluminum, titanium and manganese; and 0.5 to 50 parts, by weight, of at least one nitrogen-bearing compound from the group consisting of (NH4) 2SO4, FE (NO3) 3, Al (NO3) 3, Mg (NO3) 2 and Zn (NO3) 2; and the annealing of said steel to the final texture; said steel broth consisting essentially of, by weight, up to 0.07% carbon, 2.6 to 4.0% silicon, 0.03 to 0.24% manganese, 0.01 to 0 0.09% material from the group consisting of sulfur and selenium, 0.015 to 0.04% aluminum, up to 0.02% nitrogen, up to 0.5% copper, up to 0.0035% boron, the rest being iron.
