Procedure for preparing meat-like matter, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: (a) agglomerating practically parallel protein fibers and agglutinating tea, (b) curdling the agglomerate; (c) passing the curdled chipboard of step (b) between a pair of rollers, the distance between said rollers being approximately 7/8 to 1/10 the thickness of said chipboard; and (d) dehydrating said agglomerate.
