Abstract
Procedure for the preparation of secondary aliphatic amines, whose aliphatic chains contain 7 to 24 carbon atoms, from the corresponding primary alcohols and ammonia at approximately normal pressure and at elevated temperature in the presence of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation catalysts, characterized in that react the liquid phase alcohol with ammonia in the presence of hydrogen maintaining a minimum gas velocity of approximately 50 l/h and kg of alcohol at temperatures of approximately 120 to approximately 250ºC, and pressures of around 0.5 to around 6 absolute atmospheres, and the resulting water is evacuated along with the gas stream.
