Abstract
Procedure for preparing 9-oxo-13-trans-prostenoic acid ester derivatives, of formula: **(See formula)** where n is an integer from 1 to 2, inclusive; Y is a bivalent radical selected from the group consisting of those of the formulas: **(See formula)** is selected from the group consisting of a straight chain alkyl group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, a straight chain alkyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms and having a branched methyl group, an alkenyl group of straight chain having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, a straight chain omega-haloalkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, a straight chain omega-mercaptoalkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, an omega group straight-chain carboxy alkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms and portions of the formulas: **(See formula)** where p is an integer from 2 to 4, inclusive, q is an integer from 3 to 6, inclusive, R3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl, R5 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl, and R4 and R5 taken together, with N (hydrogen) being selected from the group consisting of pyrrolidino, and piperidino and morpholino; R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, pyridoxy 2,2,2-trichloroethoxy, a portion of the formula: **(See formula)** where p, R4 and R5 are as previously defined; (g) and if desired, form the non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable cationic or anionic salts of the compounds prepared alone.
