Abstract
Improvements in the injection molding processes of objects of spongy material, which comprise the steps of melting a material for injection molding and of mixing the material with a dilating agent, while maintaining the mixture at a temperature below that appropriate for the foaming of said driving agent, characterized in that the temperature of the mixture rises to a temperature equal to at least the normal temperature for foaming the mixture, immediately before injecting it into the mold, by the heat produced by forcing the mixture to travel through a conduit that restricts its passage; by introducing the mixture into a cold and expandable mold cavity at a rate sufficient to fill the mold cavity during the induction period of the dilating agent; why said agent is deactivated in the portion of the mixture that is in contact with the cold interior walls of the mold, and why finally, the volume of the mold cavity is increased, as well as the portion of the mixture that is not in contact with cold mold walls.
