Abstract
Procedure for the preparation of an easily graphitizable electrode fish characterized in that a coal tar fish is dissolved in an aromatic-rich petroleum fraction with a boiling range of 200 to 300ºC, with naphthalene and its homologues as main component substances, in the ratio 1: 1 to 1: 4 (fish to oil fraction), the suspension obtained is filtered or hot-separated and from the filtrate the added oil fraction is again distilled off at a temperature of the lower part of the column and with a residence time of the fish in the lower part of the distillation column such that the β-resins are increased in the fish without new formation of α-resins.
