A process for forming a stable copper-in-oil solution comprising dissolving in oil at elevated temperature chemically combined copper and acid groups derived from two structurally different monocarboxylic acids, selected from the group consisting of saturated and olefinically unsaturated aliphatic acids, the solution being capable of being concentrated to a weight percentage of copper of at least 6%, without copper precipitation.
