Abstract
A method of preparing telomeres in which telomeres are obtained, in the presence of a catalyst, by reaction between (a) a telogen in the form of an aromatic compound containing at least one active hydrogen capable of being replaced, by an atom lithium but devoid of any other substituent that is reactive against the organolytic compound defined below, with (b) at least one taxogen in the form of a selected monomer; Among the group consisting of conjugated dienes and vinyl-substituted aromatic compounds, the improvement is the use as a catalyst, in solution in a hydrocarbon solvent or in solid form of a complex of at least one organolithium with at least one compound organometallic in which the metal of said organometallic compound is selected from the group consisting of sodium, potassium, rubidium and cesium, the organic radicals of said organolithium and of said organometallic compound being C2-C18 hydrocarbon radicals selected from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, cycloalkylaryl, heterocycles, ethylenically unsaturated organic radicals, alkylene, polymethylene and polyenes.
