Abstract

A circular knitting machine comprises walls forming needle tricks for the dial or cylinder needles wherein each wall has a nose 5 which is raised in the region of the periphery of the dial and/or needle cylinder and projects as at 5b beyond the periphery of the dial or above the needle cylinder to prevent lifting of loops 15a 15b hanging on the appropriate needle by means of an edge 5c. The edge may be inclined as at 17 on the needle cylinder or have a curved or parabola shaped contour. The arrangement is particularly useful in the production of knop fabrics.
