Abstract
A dynamoelectric machine having a stator member and a rotor member, the stator member having winding thereon and means for directly cooling the windings to dissipate at least most of the heat generated therein, the rotor member including protruding poles and fan means arranged to cause a flow of coolant axially through the machine from one end to the other and in which the rotor member has means to restrict the flow of coolant therethrough so that the axial speed of the coolant is increased.
