Abstract
In a compressor motor having a reciprocating laminated core 5 attached to the compressor piston 13, the laminated stator core 4 has at least two pairs of poles 6, 7 carrying exciting coils 8, 9, one pair of poles 6 being formed so that the ends of the poles lie in a plane spaced from the ends of the poles 7 by a distance at least equal to the stroke of the piston. As shown, the poles 6 are bent downwardly but in a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) they are cranked so that the outer ends lie in a plane parallel to the inner ends. Both the reciprocat ing and stator cores may comprise a plurality of spaced sets of laminations, each set of stator laminations being formed similar to the core 4.
