Abstract

Spraying apparatus adapted to be moved over a surface to be sprayed comprises a nozzle 3 adapted to rotate on a rearwardlyinclined shaft and means to ensure that spraying is effected only in a rearward direction. Preferably the nozzle is located on the centre line of the shaft and it may be driven externally or by flow of the spray material, and may be provided with a connection for compressed gas to assist atomisation. The means for ensuring rearward spray may comprise a valve in the feed line 12, or a casing having a rearwardly directed elongated outlet 10, spray material which strikes the casing being drained and withdrawn by suction of pump 2 and recirculated through line 12.
