Abstract

A transformer is connected to a high voltage supply through a fuse in a removable holder, the removal of which also interrupts the low voltage circuit which may also contain a fuse. The transformer may be disconnectable from the fuse holder container, an interlock being provided so that disconnection can be effected only when the fuse holder is not in position. In the form shown, the transformer casing has a nose 32 containing a contact 17 connected to one end of the high voltage winding, the other end being earthed. A mating contact 16 carried in the housing 1 is connected to a contact ring 7. The fuse 3 is carried at the open sided front end of a holder 8, a contact 12 being held in a clip 15. When the holder is inserted in the housing 1 the sleeve 12 engages a contact 13 connected to a bus-bar which may be oil immersed in an enclosure with a wall 7. Spring contact members 5, at the other end of the fuse, carry contacts 6 which engage the contact ring 7. The interlock between the fuse holder and transformer is provided by members 23, 24.
