Abstract

Conductors 4, 5, 11, 12 are supported in and insulated from a metal rail 1 by strips of plastics material 2, 21 shaped as shown. A connecting plug 13 is provided with fingers for contacting the conductors and also with fingers 18 and 19 which contact the rail to give protective grounding. Each contact finger, e.g. 15 can be moved between a retracted and a projecting position by means of an eccentric (20, Fig. 5). When plug 13 is to be attached to the rail the fingers are retracted by means of a knob 23 constructed such that on rotation the contact fingers 18 and 19 are projected before the other contact fingers.
