Abstract

A dry bactericidal and detergent composition for the preparation of an aqueous solution for cleaning and disinfecting napkins consists wholly of water-soluble components and contains potassium monopersulphate, sodium chloride in an amount of 2 to 3 parts by weight per part of potassium monopersulphate, an anionic surface active agent (e.g. an alkyl benzene sulphonate) in an amount of to 1 part by weight per part of potassium monopersulphate, a phosphate-type builder (e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate) and an alkali material (e.g. sodium carbonate) in an amount sufficient to hold the pH value at 8.0 to 10.0 when the composition is dissolved in water in such quantity as to provide to 1 gram, of potassium monopersulphate per litre.
