Abstract

The shells 3, 4 of a grab bucket have ejector plates 13, 14, which are moved, by arms 15, 16, towards the open ends of the shells as the bucket is opened. The shells are moved by arms 6, 7 attached to the movable cylinder 12 of an hydraulic ram and the arms 15, 16 are either attached, as shown, to the arms 6, 7, or directly to the cylinder 12. The shells 3, 4 and ejector plates 13, 14 are coaxially pivoted to a cross-head 2 at 5, 5a.
