Abstract
Improvements introduced in the object of the main patent no. 314,487, issued on february 4, 1966, by "a method for joining a tubular member in a hollow article, such as a section of a radiator", in order to allow the passage of a fluid between said pieces and covering the steps of forming an opening in one of the walls of each of said articles, said openings having a circular cross-section and tapering inward from the outer surface of said wall, placing in the corresponding site a tubular element within said openings having the outer surface of said tubular element a layer of adhesive, push said articles against each other so that the tubular piece comes into contact with the conical openings and deface the adhesive coating by placing it in close contact with the walls of the openings, characterized by the steps consisting of forming the outer surface of the tubular element with a longitudinally curved configuration with intermediate portions between each of the ends and the center of said surface, which will provide a tightening fit in the conical openings of the hollow articles and with parts adjoining the ends and the central part which will provide a loose fitting within the conical openings of the hollow articles, and in pressing the coated tubular element and the hollow articles against each other with sufficient force to form intimate metal-to-metal contact surfaces in said intermediate portions and to displace the excess adhesive towards the spaces that intermediate between said end parts and said central part and the juxtaposed walls, of the conical openings.
