Abstract
Process for preparing unrefined aluminum alloys and magnesium, which contains, in addition to the ordinary impurities of unrefined aluminum, a magnesium content of between 3 and 5% and an aluminum content of between 99.7 and 99.9% by weight of aluminum, characterized in that the two metals are melted in such quantity that the weight ratio of iron to magnesium present in the alloy is equal to or less than 0.04 and the weight ratio (see formula) is equal to or less than 0.07.
