Abstract

A system for generating steam or other vapour comprises an oil fired boiler 16 and a waste heat boiler 12 which are linked in series, the water (or liquid) to be evaporated being fed first to the oil fired boiler and then to the waste heat boiler. The water (or liquid) is heated in one or other or both boilers to produce steam or vapour.
