Abstract

In an I.C. engine (see Division Fl), oil which collects in dry sump (6) Fig. 2 (not shown) is drawn through pipe (36) and conduit (39) by a gear pump (18) which delivers it through pipe (41) (42) to a reservoir (7) having an oil level inspection window (10) and a filler (9). Oil is delivered through a groove 53, Fig. 5 and tube 54 through a centrifuge constituted by a chamber 55 at the end of a shaft 27 and closed by a cover 56, a deflector 57 and radial ribs 58. Oil is then delivered along the outside of tube 54 and groove 60 to the engine. A crankshaft-driven notched belt in engagement with toothed piston 28, drives an overhead camshaft and oil pumps (18), (20) through shaft 27 worm and wheel (25), 26 and shaft (22).
