Abstract
Manually adjustable flow volume regulator, adapted to control the volume of flow in a ventilation pipe, comprising a tubular valve housing and a substantively aerodynamic valve body movably mounted in said housing, said body being adapted to be moved axially in relation to a seat fixed in the valvular housing by means of an adjusting mechanism actuated from the outside, said seat constituting the narrowest section of the venturi-shaped pipe cap, integral with or disposed therein, characterized in that the valve body is mounted behind the seat, seen in the direction of the flow of the medium, and is constructed so that when closed it rests against the seat along a line in which the diameter of the rounded front portion of the valve body has its greatest dimension and because the valvular body has a cylindrical portion ex lying from said backward contact line, corresponding at least to 3/7 of the maximum diameter of the valvular body and in that the outlet portion of the venturi casing forms an angle with said cylindrical portion of maximum 10º.
