Abstract

A thermoformed plastics cover to assist the film wrapping of an open egg container has an upper face (15) which is provided with frusto-conical depressions (17, 18, 19) and has outwardly flared side walls which incorporate channels, said channels and depressions being able to rest on projections of the container. Cavities (16) are provided which form anti-impact air cushions together with the wrapping film, and a continuous impact strip (21) is provided.
