Abstract

The invention relates to card-clothed elements for textile machines of the type having card-clothing "tops" made of metallic wire type card-clothing. In accordance with the invention, the top itself comprises a plurality of strips of metallic wire type card-clothing arranged in a side-by-side array, and the element has a substantially rigid body with a longitudinally extending recess, at least one of the longitudinal edges of the recess being undercut. The shape of the lower part of each of the card-clothing strips is the same as the cross-section of the longitudinally extending recess, and the "top" is slid into the recess through the open end thereof. In this way, the "top" is held in the body of the element, and can only be fined therein by sliding through the open end of the recess. The recess is closed inwardly after the "top" has been fitted to secure the "top" in the body.
