Abstract

Combination of a floor (4) and a drain (1) comprising: - a collecting tray (2) to collect water to drain, where the collecting tray (2) has lower and vertical walls along the edge of the bottom and an outlet opening (3) for connection to an outlet pipe; and - a grid (6, 7, 9) arranged on the collecting tray (2); wherein at least one part (9) of the grid is movable between a first position, in which the at least one part (9) of the grid (6, 7, 9) lies level with or below the surface ( 7) of the grid, and a second position in which the at least one part (9) of the grid (6, 7, 9) lies above the level of the upper surface (7) of the grid in the first position, wherein the drain (1) is arranged in the floor (4) and in the first position the upper surface (7) of the grate (6, 7, 9) lies substantially level with the upper surface of the floor (4 ), characterized in that the at least one part (9) of the grid (6, 7, 9) comprises an arm (9) pivotally arranged on the grid (6, 7, 9), where in the second position the free end of the arm (9) protrudes above the upper surface (7) of the grid (6, 7, 9), and where the arm (9) is arranged on the outer side of the grid (6, 7, 9) adjacent to the tray (2 ) collector.

DESCRIPTION

Drainage with lifting means

The invention relates to a combination of a soil and a drain according to the preamble of claims 1, 2, 4 and 5. Such a combination is known from EP 2243886A.

Drains are known with various types of grates, including metal grates, which are provided on the top surface with openings through which drain water can flow into the collection pan, but also called tile-shaped grates.

A tile-shaped grid is a support on which a tile is placed and which usually matches the tiles on the surrounding floor. The dimensions of the tile grid are slightly smaller here than the underlying collecting tray. In this way formed between the surrounding soil and the tile-shaped grid there is a gap along which the draining water can flow into the collecting tray.

Periodic cleaning of drains is desirable. Here the grid must be removed so that the underlying collecting tray can be cleaned. Grid removal is often difficult due to low grip points. It is known for this purpose to also supply a separate hook which can be inserted into an opening in the grid or into the gap along a tile-shaped grid in order to thereby lift the grid. These separate hooks are often lost, so an attempt should be made to remove the racks by hand. This is difficult and certainly in the case of a tile-shaped grid which is relatively heavy due to the integrated tile, often impossible.

There is an additional trend in gratings, and particularly in the tile-shaped grating, to incorporate the design in such a way that the drainage is as discrete as possible on the floor. The provision of an origin mark, such as a brand name and / or logo, is then dispensed with for aesthetic reasons. However, from the point of view of the drain manufacturer it is desirable to provide a mark of origin.

It is now an object of the invention to reduce or even obviate the drawbacks expressed above.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a combination according to any of claims 1, 2, 4 and 5.

In these combinations, the part of the grid which can be moved from the first position to the second position provides a grip point since it protrudes relative to the upper surface of the grid in the first position. This protruding part makes it possible to grasp the grid and remove it from the drain.

The collecting tray can be formed as a tray with bottom and vertical walls along the bottom edge, but it can also be formed as a recess in the surrounding soil.

Furthermore, a trademark or logo can be provided that is only visible when the movable part of the grille is in the second position, for example on the movable part of the grille. In this way the drain is as unobtrusive as possible in the first position, while the trademark or logo may have a prominent position during removal of the grille, when the movable part is in the second position.

In the combination according to claim 1, the at least part of the grid comprises an arm pivotably disposed on the grid, wherein in the second position the free end of the arm protrudes above the upper surface of the grid.

The rack can be lifted with the arm. The arm preferably extends on both sides of the pivot point such that pressing on the arm on one side causes the other part of the arm to move upward.

A trademark or logo may also be provided in a suitable position on the arm.

The arm can be arranged here on one side of the grid or it can be arranged on the upper surface of the grid.

The arm can also be made as a U-shaped clamp, with both legs of the clamp protruding on either side of the grille. The grid can then be provided with a recess, whereby the U-shaped clamp can be gripped and pivoted upward such that the grid is thereby removed.

The arm is arranged on the outer side of the grid adjacent to the collecting tray. Particularly in the case of a tile-shaped grid a gap is formed around the grid and is limited by the collecting tray. The arm can be lowered into this gap, so the arm is barely visible in the first position. Can be arranged an identification mark on the part of the arm that is visible when the gap has been lowered. In this way a trademark can still be subtly disposed in the drain.

In the combination according to claim 2, 3 or 4, the lifting means are arranged between the collecting tray and the grid for the purpose of lifting the grid from the first position to the second position.

In this embodiment, part or all of the grid can be moved upward, whereby the grid forms a threshold. Thus, the grid can be easily removed from the drain.

In a variant in which the drain is elongated and is arranged on the floor in the position of a door, such as a shower door, the drain with the grid in the second position can also function as a threshold, so they are retained foam and water and can flow directly into the drain, and there is no risk of foam and water flowing through the screen.

Another advantage of lifting means is that the overall depth of the drain can be reduced. The rack should then be moved to the second position before use. Therefore, the outlet opening in the collection tray is then left clear. After use the grill can be moved back to the first position in which it closes the outlet opening.

In the combination according to claim 2 or 3, the lifting means comprise spring means and a lock for locking the spring means in the first position. The spring means compensate the weight of the grid, whereby the grid automatically propels to the second position. The grid can then be held in the first position by locking.

In one embodiment the lock is released by pressing the spring means further beyond the first position. The same principle is used for example in a ball point pen in order to move the pen out.

In the combination according to claim 4, the lifting means comprise two wedge-shaped elements which rise against each other and where one element is slidably arranged on the grid, and where the other element is arranged in the collecting tray.

In the combination according to claim 5, the pin has a mechanism similar to a ball-tip mechanism, whereby the pin can move between the two positions each time this pin is pressed in.

The pin preferably protrudes through an opening in the upper surface of the grid.

It is highly preferable to arrange the at least part of the grid, which is movable between two positions, for example on an adjusting foot. Adjustment feet are often used to position the grid at the desired height on the drip tray. The adjusting foot is for example a plastic part here which can be attached to the grid. In yet another embodiment of the combinations according to the invention the grid comprises a support for supporting a floor part such as a tile.

Figure 1 shows a perspective view with partially cut away parts of a first embodiment of a drain according to the invention.

Figures 2A and 2B show cross sections of a second embodiment of a drain according to the invention in two different positions.

Figure 3 shows a third embodiment of a drain grate that is not in accordance with the invention. Figure 4 shows a fourth embodiment of a grate for a drain according to the invention.

Figure 5 shows a fifth embodiment of a grate for a drain according to the invention.

Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a drain 1 according to the invention. This drain 1 has a collecting tray 2 with an outlet opening 3. The collecting tray 2 is surrounded by a tile floor 4. Placed in the collecting tray 2 is a so-called tile-shaped grid which comprises a support 6 with a tile 7 inside. The top surface of tile 7 lies substantially flush with the top surface of tile floor 4.

Formed between the tile floor 4, or the vertical edge of the collecting tray 2, and tile grid 6, 7 there is a gap 8 along which water can flow and enter the collecting tray 2.

An arm 9 which can rotate about a pivot point 10 is arranged on the outside of the tile-shaped grid. When the one side of the arm 9 is pressed, the arm will pivot upward, whereby a part by which the grid can be grasped protrudes above the upper surface of the grid.

A trademark can be placed on the arm side which becomes visible when the arm 9 is pivoted up.

Figures 2A and 2B show a second embodiment of a drain 20 according to the invention. Drain 20 has a collecting tray 21 with an outlet opening 22. The tiles 23 of a surrounding floor are arranged on each side of the collecting tray 21.

A metal grid 24 is further placed in the collecting tray 21, where the openings 25 are arranged in the upper surface of the grid 24.

Arranged between the grid 24 and collecting tray 21 are lifting means, each comprising a spring 26, which drives the grid 24 upward. The lifting means further comprise two telescopic housing parts 27 which are provided with co-acting projections 28. With the housing parts 27, the projections 28 and notches optionally arranged in the housing parts 27, the same operation can be obtained as a ballpoint pen. This then makes it possible to keep the grid 24 in the first position as shown in Figure 2A. The lock will be released by pressing the grid 24 a little deeper, so the springs 26 can press the grid 24 to the second position (shown in Figure 2B).

In Fig. 2B the grid 24 is in the second position, thereby forming a barrier to for example the foam 29, and thereby preventing the foam 29 from flowing over the grid 24 and to the opposite side of the tiles 23 .

If desired, a logo or trademark may be provided on the mesh side wall 24 such that the origin mark is visible in the second position. The grid 24 can also be easily picked up in this position.

Figure 3 shows a third embodiment of a grid 30 for a drain.

Grid 30 is a bent plate, wherein an elongated opening 32 is disposed on upper surface 31. An elongated plate 33 is pivotally arranged in this elongated opening 32. For example, a logo may be provided on this plate 33.

Plate 33 has a pivot shaft which is preferably arranged off-center such that plate 33 lies flush with the top surface 31 in the rest position. Pressing on one side of plate 33 will cause the other end to move upward, whereby grid 30 can then be removed from a collection tray.

Figure 4 shows a fourth embodiment of a grid 40 for a drain according to the invention. The grid 40 is also a bent plate, where different openings 42 are arranged in the upper surface 41 for the passage of water that falls on them.

An extraction element 43 is arranged in one of the openings 42. This extraction element 43 has a pin 44 which can be moved outwards in a similar way as a ball point pen when pressed inwards. The grid 40 can then be removed using the protruding pin 44.

Figure 5 shows a fifth embodiment of a grate 50 for a drain according to the invention. Provided on one side 51 in grid 50 is a slot 52 in which a wedge-shaped element 53 is slidably arranged. This wedge-shaped element 53 rises against a second wedge-shaped element 54 which is arranged for example in the collecting tray.

The grid 50 will be pressed upward as the first wedge-shaped element 53 now slides against the second wedge-shaped element 54, after which the grid 50 can be grasped and pulled out.

Claims (7)

1. Combination of a soil (4) and a drain (1) comprising: - a collecting tray (2) to collect water to drain, where the collecting tray (2) has lower and vertical walls along the edge of the lower part and an outlet opening (3) for connection to a pipe output Y - a grid (6, 7, 9) arranged in the collecting tray (2); where at least a part (9) of the grid is movable between a first position, in which the at least part (9) of the grid (6, 7, 9) lies flush with or below the surface (7) top of the grid, and a second position in which the at least part (9) of the grid (6, 7, 9) lies above the level of the upper surface (7) of the grid in the first position, wherein the drain (1) is arranged in the floor (4) and in the first position the upper surface (7) of the grid (6, 7, 9) lies substantially level with the upper surface of the floor (4), characterized in that the at least one part (9) of the grid (6, 7, 9) comprises an arm (9) pivotably arranged on the grid (6, 7, 9), where in the second position the free end of the arm (9) protrudes above the upper surface (7) of the grid (6, 7, 9), and where the arm (9) is arranged on the outer side of the grid (6, 7, 9) adjacent to the collecting tray (2). 2.
