Abstract

A vehicle body door seal has a gripping section 5 for embracing a flange running around a door opening. A sealing section 14 is attached to the outside surface of one side of the gripping section. The sealing section 14 defines a recess 20 in which may be located a bracing member 22, which may be held in position by adhesive. The bracing member 22 is not normally positioned along the whole of the length of the sealing strip around the entire door opening but only along that part or those parts of the opening where the geometry and shape of the door opening and the door require the sealing section 14 to be stiffened and/or raised slightly in attitude so as to stand more proud from the gripping section.
