Abstract

Improvements in steam irons, characterized by a contact plate with the materials to be ironed, provided with an instant vaporization boiler that communicates with a port that opens downwards through the iron surface and by a prepared open-down recess on the plate surface of the contact plate around the port; an easily removable closure element that almost fills the surface of the recess but leaves a peripheral steam outlet around it and steam passages limited in part by the ceiling of the recess and in part by the border surface of the closure element and prolonged from the port to the peripheral steam outlet, in such a way that the removal of the closing element allows access to the port and the steam passages, for cleaning.
