Abstract

Método de fabricación de una suspensión acuosa de carbonato de calcio natural que se caracteriza porque comprende los pasos siguientes: a) premoler en seco y/o húmedo de carbonato de calcio a un diámetro medio de 0,5 a 500 μm (d50) en presencia o en ausencia de agentes dispersantes, b) formar una suspensión acuosa del producto de la etapa a) mediante la adición de la cantidad necesaria de agua para obtener un contenido de carbonato de calcio seco de entre 10% y 80%, preferiblemente entre 30% y 50% y muy preferiblemente entre 35% y 45%, c) moler la suspensión resultante de la etapa b) en presencia de un homopolímero y/o copolímero de ácido (met)acrílico que tiene al mismo tiempo un peso molecular entre 8000 g/mol y 15000 g/mol, preferiblemente entre 10000 g/mol y 14000 g/mol, muy preferiblemente del orden de 12000 g/mol y un contenido molar de cadenas de polímero de peso molecular inferior a 3000 g/mol a menos de 20%, preferiblemente 15%, muy preferiblemente 10%, d) opcionalmente concentrar la suspensión acuosa obtenida en la etapa c) por cualquier medio conocido con el fin de obtener un contenido de carbonato de calcio de al menos 5% en la concentración de la etapa b) o c), que comprende preferiblemente entre 60% y 80% en peso, y muy preferiblemente entre 65% y 75% en peso, e) opcionalmente añadir un agente dispersante a la suspensión acuosa durante o después de la etapa d).
