Abstract
In the dyeing or printing of cellulose textiles with reactive dyestuffs, any unbound dyestuff is subsequently removed by treatment with an aqueous preparation containing an anion-active dispersing agent in which the cation is the residue of a nitrogenous organic base. The dispersing agent may be derived from a primary, secondary or tertiary amine and suitable agents are the salts of 12-20 carbon atoms fatty acids with tertiary amines, such as dimethylcyclohexylamine oleate, and quaternary ammonium compounds in which the anion is derived from a 12-20 carbon atoms fatty acid, such as tetramethyl ammonium oleate. The aqueous preparation may also contain a soap, such as sodium or potassium oleate, and/or a non-ionic dispersing agent, such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone or a polyglycol ether of a higher alcohol or a phenol, and/or a compound containing at least one <FORM:0900998/IV (b)/1> group, such as aminoacetic acid, methylamino acid or an amine of the formula:- <FORM:0900998/IV (b)/2> in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of at most 3 carbon atoms or a hydroxymethyl group, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and n is a whole number not greater than 4. As the reactive dyestuff, dyestuffs of all classes with the usual reactive groups are listed. Examples of dyeing and printing are given.
