Abstract

Método y sistema de energía solar químico-térmico para un sistema CSP que asocia una vía de energía térmica y una vía de energía química. La vía de energía térmica utiliza un fluido de trasferencia de calor para captar la luz del sol concentrada como energía térmica a media temperatura y transferir esta energía a un ciclo de energía de térmica a eléctrica. En paralelo, la vía química utiliza un material rédox que experimenta una fotoreducción directa en el receptor para almacenar la energía solar como potencial químico. Este material rédox es después oxidado a temperaturas muy elevadas en el ciclo de energía en serie con el intercambiado de calor de vía química. Esta asociación permite que el receptor funcione a muy elevadas eficiencias típicas de las torres de energía térmicas del estado de la técnica a la vez que se consigue simultáneamente eficiencias de ciclo de energía típicas de plantas de combustión de gas natural y se consigue un eficiencia de conversión total de solar a eléctrica muy elevada.
