Abstract
Dispensing apparatus for discharging liquid from a container, having a stationary unit comprising a cylindrical body including means for fastening to a container, a reciprocating unit comprising a piston having at its lower end a piston housed to slide in said body cylindrical and at its upper end a discharge head disposed externally to the body, said piston, piston and head having communication passages extending therethrough for the discharge of fluid from said container upon lowering said reciprocating unit, a spring which acts between said body and plunger to raise the last, a valve element, said body being formed near its lower end to provide a seat for said valve element, in order to prevent the discharge of liquid down through the lower end of said body, while allowing the free passage of liquid upward to said body from said container, characterized by means acting between said plunger and said valve member when said plunger is fully lowered to retain said valve element in said seat, so that said valve element serves to prevent drainage through said steps of liquid from said container when the latter is inverted, and means acting between said oscillating unit and said stationary unit to block said head and piston in the fully lowered position.
