Abstract

Un procedimiento para la producción de alúmina a partir de un líquido de digestión ácida producido por la disolución de una materia prima que contiene aluminio en ácido sulfúrico, que comprende las operaciones de tratamiento del líquido de digestión de manera que se reduzca la relación ponderal de SO3: Al2O3 a un valor menor de 2,35 sin introducir cantidades importantes de impurezas perjudiciales, hidrolizar el líquido de digestión modificado a una temperatura comprendida entre 180ºC. y 300ºC. para precipitar un compuesto de aluminio, y descomponer el compuesto precipitado para producir alúmina.
