Screw cap, provided with a security ring for a threaded neck of a bottle or container, said neck being provided with an outwardly directed circumferential rib and said security ring being apt to be trapped below said bottle rib or container and being attached to the lower edge of said cap by means of circumferentially spaced connecting bridges, characterized in that said security ring is provided with a certain number of cams directed inward and distributed regularly around the circumference that are capable of being blocked by below said rib of bottle or container and because said security ring is so robustly and elasticly constructed that by means of its cams, said security ring can spring elastically onto the rib of the bottle or container when applying the screw cap on said bottle or container.
