A circuit breaker apparatus having a stationary contact structure consisting of a fixed member provided with separate internal and external supports; a pair of plates arranged on the outer side of each of said external supports and mounted on said external supports so that they have a limited movement with respect thereto; spring means that provide a snap contact between said plates and said external supports; contacts carrying bodies disposed between said external supports and said internal support and mounted on said supports so that they have a limited movement with respect thereto; spring means providing a snap contact between said contact carrying members and said internal support; main stationary contact means on said plates and on said contacts carrying bodies; a contact member disposed between said plates and supported by said plates so that it has a limited movement with respect thereto; intermediate stationary and break contacts arranged on said contact body; and a movable switch arm with main, intermediate and rupture movable contacts disposed thereon to cooperate respectively with said main, intermediate and rupture stationary contacts, opening and closing the circuit.
