Abstract

Nueva formulación cosmética de extractos obtenidos a partir de las semillas de la Bija (Bixa orellana L., Fam. Bixaceae) que actúan como filtro solar estando indicados para su aplicación tópica percutánea, con fines cosméticos encaminados a conseguir una protección frente a las radiaciones ultravioletas eritematosas, solares o de otro origen (lámparas UVA). Además también se puede aplicar como agente de tratamiento presolar, ya que colorea la piel de un color amarillo-anaranjado que recuerda al bronceado natural. La composición está constituida esencialmente por (a) 0,1-100 % de extractos naturales de Bija (Bixa orellana L., Fam. Bixaceae) conteniendo norbixina acompañada de pequeñas cantidades de bixina (9''Z-6,6''- diapocaroteno-6,6''-dioato) y otros carotenoides y (b) un gel hidrosoluble, una emulsión O/W, una emulsión W/O o una solución oleosa. Además de estos ingredientes a) y b), estas formulaciones pueden contener opcionalmente otros componentes con efectos coadyuvantes o complementarios. Estas formulaciones son útiles como protección frente a las radiaciones ultravioletas eritematosas, solares o de otro origen (lámparas UVA).
