Abstract

Frosting of glass articles involves subjecting the articles to sandblasting, followed by thermal treatment at a temperature between the temperature of dilatometric softening and the Littleton point or the softening temperature of the glass from which the glass articles were produced or equally at one or other of these temperatures. An Independent claim is included for the frosted glass articles, notably flasks, obtained by this method.
