Abstract

The procedure is for mounting an earth electrode (4) designed as a ring electrode or multipole side electrodes onto a metal spark plug body (1) with an axial centre electrode. The spark plug body has a centring groove (11) that is concentric to the axis. Welding cams are formed on the prefabricated earth electrode. The earth electrode is then inserted into the centring groove and welded to it.
