Abstract

The closure device for beverage cans (1) is usable in cans provided with a die-cut lid (3) and comprises an opening lever (5) which has a ring (6), a small tongue (8) hinged to the ring by means of a hinge (9), and a protuberance (10). The lever (5) is made integral with the upper base (2) of the can (1) by means of a rivet (12) about which it may rotate. It has a plug (13) made of flexible and elastic material comprised of two inseparable parts: the plug itself and means for fixing the plug (13) to the opening lever (5). The closure position of the device is obtained by rotating the opening lever by 180 degres about the fixing rivet, from the can opening position where the ring is in the position opposite to the opening.
