Abstract
A nozzle holder (10) is inserted from the top in a guiding bore in the cylinder. An injection passage from the individual pump mounted at the side of the head leads to the holder, which extends below the camshaft (6) to a clamping stirrup (29), having at the top end a conical recess from which a fuel passage runs to the nozzle, and a leak-off one to the side. A spherical boss between the stirrup ends fits in the recess, one end fitting in a recess (28) at the side of the head and the other being held by a clamping screw, while an elastic seal fits between the boss and recess. The pump (47) is level with the camshaft and parallel to the stirrup at the side of the head, its plunger being actuated by the camshaft, while its pressure chamber is connected directly by a passage (52) to the pressure passage in the stirrup. The pump housing and stirrup can form a common flange, the pump itself being elastically bent on the holder by the clamping screw.
